Bristol SU recognises that the costs of participating in student groups can be prohibitively expensive for some students. The Activity Hardship Fund was created to support those students who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate in their chosen activity due to the cost.
Welcome to Bristol University Exchange Society! BUES aims to bring international exchange students and local UoB students together.
This is the only society dedicated to exchange students coming to Bristol and students returning from/going on their exchange abroad, as well as any students considering the year abroad route.
Our regular socials are a great place to meet new people and for returning Bristol students to reconnect with people. Held throughout the term, socials are for everyone who is a part of the society and those who want to get to know us! We also host a radio show once a week to chat with members about their exchange experience. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to share some music, tell funny or honest stories about their experience of studying abroad or gain experience speaking on real live radio (friends and family love to listen in!).

Memberships only cost £3 for the year and will help cover costs of organising socials, events, and trips!
We will match 'parents' (local Bristol students) and 'children' (incoming exchange or international students) based on your interest and what you all like to do together.
For 'children', BUES is a society that will help you get settled into Bristol by organising regular socials. Your smaller families will also be a great way for your to get to know local Bristol students, who will be able to pass on insider knowledge about the best places in Bristol!
For 'parents' this will be a great opportunity for your to practise your language, meet new people and continue the spirit of exchange into your final year. Being a 'parent' also counts towards the Bristol PLUS award. If you still deciding where to go on your year abroad, you will be able to mix with people from lots of different countries.
Families are organised at the start of TB1 via google form, found on our instagram or the linktree below. Once allocated, we hold a social where you can meet your family. In TB2 students that stay in Bristol continue in the same family (unless they ask to move) and new exchange students replace those who have left.
We also have socials planned and coming up so make sure to follow our instagram and join our whatsapp group to keep up-to-date. In the meantime, keep these dates in your diaries:
