Venue Hire at University of Bristol Student’s Union

Situated in one of the most vibrant cities and best-known universities in the UK, Bristol SU offers a wide range of spaces for hire for a variety of event needs. Whether you would like to host a conference, live performance, or meeting, we have the space for you.

The Richmond Building is the home of Bristol SU and our spaces. Situated on Queens Road in Clifton, the Richmond Building is easily accessible to the city centre and other areas of the city via car, foot, and bus.

In 2015, the Richmond building opened after a £30 million revamp and now offers a large event space in the Anson Rooms, two theatres, two bars and a variety of multi-purpose activity rooms available to hire. It is a unique facility within the city that offers a wide range of spaces to meet the needs of any event.

Our Spaces for Hire

Anson Rooms
Bristol SU’s largest event space, perfect for conferences, dance shows, exhibitions and more. 

Capacity - 540 seated / 900 standing

Anson Rooms Bar
Situated adjacent to the Anson Rooms, can be hired alongside or as stand-alone space for intimate events.

Capacity – 100 Seated / 180 Standing
A medium sized room with a sports team photoshoot in progress.
Carpenter Room
Large open-plan room, perfect for rehearsals, breakout sessions, activity classes and workshops.

Capacity – 200 Seated
A dance studio with several ballet dancers performing exercises whilst holding a long bar.
Dance Studio
Sprung floored activity space, an ideal rehearsal space for a range of activities.

Capacity – 25 Standing
A smaller, office-like room with two four seater tables, a large screen and phone.
Odlum Room
Smaller room ideal for team away days, breakout sessions and meetings.

Capacity – 30 Seated
A large space with a raised platform. There are two couples dancing whilst an instructor looks on.
Pegg Studio Theatre
Highly adaptable black box theatre space for a variety of performances and rehearsals.

Capacity – 80 Seated / 100 Standing
A medium sized room with four square tables with two emtpy chairs on each side
Stephenson Room
Open-plan room used for large meetings, away-days and breakout sessions.

Capacity – 60 Seated / 60 Standing
A very large, empty theatre with rows of red chairs and a raised stage with a white screen at the back.
Winston Theatre
One of our finest spaces for all kinds of performances, talks and film screenings.

Capacity – 209 Seated
