Our Community Spaces provide students with space on campus to find connection and unwind from your studies. Destress after a long day and have some fun, find your tribe, try something new!
Unlike our room bookings through our Student Services team, the SU Community Spaces cannot be exclusively booked. Instead only areas can be booked, and the events we book in from student groups must include an element of community building.
The Living Rooms and Loft are our community spaces in Senate House. Both are an excellent place to meet friends, decompress after a long lecture or join in on one of our regularly hosted craft events for some time to unwind.
The Sensory Room is the perfect chill zone for students who need a space to unwind, get in touch with their senses, or take a break from a hectic day. Whether you need more excitement or a little less, this spot is designed to be a totally comfortable, accessible space for whatever helps you relax or reset.

The Swap Shop in Living Room 1 was created in response to the cost-of-living crisis and to promote sustainability. Here you can donate old clothes or non-perishable food. You can also take anything on the shelves including our regular donations of rice, pasta and oats from Source café.
