Description

The University of Bristol Law Club (UBLC) is one of the UK's largest and most highly reputed Law societies, comprising of over 1,000 members. We are the official society for the School of Law, and the go-to law society for aspiring lawyers in commercial law and beyond.

The society revolves around six areas:

  1. Freshers - From day one, the UBLC is there to support you. As a member, we will provide you with instant access to our First Year Guide, freshers' socials, networking events, competitions and our exclusive mentoring scheme
  2. Your Career - We hold career events with the biggest global law firms in the UK, including magic circle firms and US firms. This includes our flagship Careers Dinner and award-winning Commercial Awareness Programme, which involves exclusive open days for our members at top law firms. The UBLC provides the highest level of insight into the legal industry, with opportunities for everyone.
  3. Socials - The highlight of our members' social calendar is the spectacular UBLC Law Ball, and tickets sell fast! As a member, you will have access to the best prices on all tickets. Membership also guarantees access to our annual UBLC Trip Abroad ticket sale!
  4. Competitions - We offer multiple mooting, debating, commercial awareness, and negotiation competitions throughout the year, so you can hone your advocacy and teamwork skills before your legal career starts.
  5. Sports - Our successful Netball and Football intramural teams provide a brilliant opportunity to meet fellow UBLC members, compete in the SU's intramural leagues, and compete against other sports teams from other law societies in a range of intervarsity competitions.
  6. Diversity & Inclusion - We constantly provide support to international students and individuals from different backgrounds by holding multiple diversity and international events. We also offer the UBLC Bursary, which is our flagship equalities initiative, introduced to break down barriers to accessing the legal profession and the UBLC's opportunities.

Membership is available for both law and non-law students, so become a member of our community! If you want to know more, or have any questions, check out our social media below or email us.
