Welcome to DramSoc, the University of Bristol's longest running, largest and most prestigious performing arts society. Committed to student theatre, our aim is to nurture talent, produce high quality productions and cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment.
We offer a wide range of activities for our members througout the year, including shows, schemes, workshops, and socials.
We put on an average of 6 shows a year inside the Student’s Union and at external venues across Bristol. This means that there are a variety of spaces available to you as a DramSoc member - from the huge Winston Theatre or Pegg Studio within the SU, to the reputable Tobacco Factory or atmospheric Loco Klub. We are always looking to expand the range of opportunities available to our members. From showcases to an assortment of workshops and socials, involvement with DramSoc always guarantees a chance for something new and fun. Moving further afield, we also fund teams to go to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every summer.
Everyone is welcome at the many auditions we run throughout the year and absolutely anyone can propose for a slot to put on anything of their choosing, securing the funding on offer. This means that no two shows are the same and that there is opportunity to get involved on whatever level you would like. Our membership fees are £8 for the year, which lets you be part of any of our casts or production teams, and gets you discounted ticket prices for most of our shows. If you need assistance in covering the cost of your membership, please email our Treasurer, Oshi (em22785@bristol.ac.uk). All applications will be treated with confidentiality.
