Mixed

Mixed lacrosse aims to widen participation in the game by providing a relaxed and fun atmosphere for people to try the sport, or carry on playing it at a less serious level, whilst providing competition for those who want it.

Training is every Wednesday and Sunday, from 2-4pm, on the Downs. We organise friendly matches against other universities throughout the year, which are a fantastic day out. Socialising is a big part of our club and we are proud to be one of the friendliest sports clubs at the university, you will find it impossible not to make friends here!

For those with more of a competitive streak, the past seasons have seen the development of our Performance Squad. The team competes throughout the year in matches against other university mixed teams, and at an annual mixed tournament. The performance squad train every Tuesday from 8:00 - 9:00pm at the Coombe Dingle Sports Complex. Here we balance some more formal training, including drills, gameplay and tactics, with the social and fun aspect of mixed. This year is seeing the introduction of a mixed lacrosse league which will provide extra competition against other universities and lacrosse clubs in the bid for the title!

If you’re interested in joining, then come along to one of our sessions and give it a go!

Men’s

The men’s lacrosse club is one of the highest performing men’s clubs at the university, with the 1st team contributing the most BUCS points out of any single team. The 1st team competes in the BUCS Premier South division which they have won undefeated 4 of the last 6 seasons. The 2nd team competes in Western 2A (two leagues below our 1s) have attained respectable table positions and are now looking to get promotion this year.

We also have a 3rd team which provides a great platform for new players to pick up a stick, enjoy the game, and have some friendly matches against other universities!

The university team has strong links with Bristol Bombers lacrosse club, with our university players regularly playing with Bombers, to allow our senior players to develop at one of the highest levels in the country and to give our freshers as much exposure to the game as possible.

If you're interested in joining or have any questions, message us on any of our socials below or come to a session and give it a go, our training times can be found on our website. New players will be provided with kit in their first year of the sport.
