The Balloon Bar
The Balloon Bar is a safe, welcoming, and vibrant space in The Richmond Building.
Opening hours:
Monday-Friday: 9am-11pm (last orders 10.30pm)
Saturday: 10am-5pm (with some flexibility for events planned in the Richmond Building)
Sunday: Closed
Come and relax after lectures, catch-up over a drink and experience the best of student life in the heart of Bristol. During the day expect free samples and impromptu ‘spin-the-wheel’ events, with the opportunity to win a prize, as well as the chance to trial our newest products.
We also make sure weekday evenings are packed with special offers and student takeover events – think pub quizzes, open mic nights and Mario Kart tournaments. You can even apply to book the Balloon Bar for student group events using the Bristol SU spaces booking form - give as much information as you can and a member of the team will be in touch.
We prioritise having an inclusive and friendly atmosphere where everyone can be themselves – we’ve even got an interactive 'Happy or Not' feedback screen so we can keep up with any changes you’d like to see!

Accessibility Information
The Balloon Bar is on the ground floor of The Richmond building. Step free access is available via the Gordon Road entrance. The Balloon Bar does not have a lowered section at the bar. Once inside the building there are two lifts which service all floors. There are doors around the building which have to be opened manually. Accessible toilets are available on every floor. Gender neutral toilets are available on the 4th floor.
