Green Week: What’s on?
Green Week 2025 at the University of Bristol is happening next week and here is how you can get involved!
The University are hosting a week of events and activities focused on 'driving change through innovation and local action'. The goal is to cultivate a culture of responsibility and care towards the environment, support sustainability-related initiatives and help build networks.
On some of the events happening next week have been a collaborative effort with Bristol SU, as we celebrate the work of some of our Sustainability Champions!

- 🌿Monday 24 February: Making Friends with Time and Planet
- 🌿Wednesday 26 February: Climate Fresk, led by some of our Sustainability Champions
- 🌿Wednesday 26 February: Film Screeningm: Reasons for Hope with Jane Goodall
- 🌿Friday 28 February: Careers for change-makers, led by some of our Sustainability Champions.
- 🌿Friday 28 February: Plant-based cooking with Earth Justice Society
What are Sustainability Champions?
Sustainability Champions are student-staff at the SU who work within their academic departments to make sustainability (both environmental and social justice) a bigger part of the curriculum and the University experience 💚
They team up with staff and students to push for climate justice and help shape how sustainability is taught.
The programme is a key part of the University's commitment to sustainability through its Education for Sustainable Development strategy and Climate Action Plan (CAP).
Sustainability Champions, will:
- ✅ Represent students and make sure their voices are heard on sustainability in academics.
- ✅ Work with staff to embed sustainability into courses and learning.
- ✅ Collaborate with student leaders, like Academic Reps and societies, to drive change.
- ✅ Champion the SU’s values – equity, diversity & inclusion (EDI), wellbeing, sustainability, community, and fun!
It’s a great way to make a real impact on how sustainability is approached at Bristol Uni while working with like-minded people.
