Tuesday 18-02-2025 - 12:36

Green Week 2025 at the University of Bristol is happening next week and here is how you can get involved!

The University are hosting a week of events and activities focused on 'driving change through innovation and local action'. The goal is to cultivate a culture of responsibility and care towards the environment, support sustainability-related initiatives and help build networks.

On some of the events happening next week have been a collaborative effort with Bristol SU, as we celebrate the work of some of our Sustainability Champions!

You can check out all the events here, but here are our highlights.

What are Sustainability Champions?

Sustainability Champions are student-staff at the SU who work within their academic departments to make sustainability (both environmental and social justice) a bigger part of the curriculum and the University experience 💚

They team up with staff and students to push for climate justice and help shape how sustainability is taught.

The programme is a key part of the University's commitment to sustainability through its Education for Sustainable Development strategy and Climate Action Plan (CAP).

Sustainability Champions, will:

  • ✅ Represent students and make sure their voices are heard on sustainability in academics.
  • ✅ Work with staff to embed sustainability into courses and learning.
  • ✅ Collaborate with student leaders, like Academic Reps and societies, to drive change.
  • ✅ Champion the SU’s values – equity, diversity & inclusion (EDI), wellbeing, sustainability, community, and fun!

It’s a great way to make a real impact on how sustainability is approached at Bristol Uni while working with like-minded people.

Find out who your sustainability champion is on this page and consider getting involved!
