Description

Formed in 2012, UoB Futsal is one of the newest additions to Bristol University sport and it has started with a bang! Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports on the planet and our club is following the same trend. Since 2021 we have competed in the highest domestic level in the BUCS Southern Premier, seeing us finish 4th and 2nd respectively.

In 2022/23 we finished as a Top 4 UK university team for futsal, finishing 2nd in the league and reaching the semi-finals of the national cup, qualifiying us to represent Great Britain at The European Universities Sports Association (EUSA) futsal championships in Split, Croatia.

We currently have three teams consisting of two competing in BUCS competitions and one in the National Futsal League. This year we're working hard to reestablish women's futsal at the University with the help of B:Active!

The club is dedicated to making futsal available to every student, so whether you're male or female, haven't heard of it before or have been playing for years UoB Futsal Club is for you!

So, what is it?

Futsal is an indoor, small sided version of football originating from South America. Futsal comes from the words 'fut' and 'sal' meaning football and hall respectively. It's a fast paced game similar to 5 aside football, ideal for developing your skill and technique. If you're looking to improve your 11 a side chances then this is exactly the sport for you- some of the best players in the world attribute their skill development to futsal including Messi, Ronaldinho and Neymar.

What do we offer:

In addition to weekly training and great socials, we play competitive games twice a week in BUCS leagues and Futsoul's Bristol Futsal League. We'll be hosting trials at the start of the season for our competitive teams so please come along and show us what you can do.

For those that didn't make the performance teams, or missed the trials, you can contact info@futsoul.info to query about participating in Futsoul's Bristol Futsal League, taking place every Tuesday at Cotham school. We'd also recommend purchasing the development or social membership depending on your level.
