Full Time Officers

The seven officers are elected every year
to represent students and help improve
your experience at Bristol

You elect seven full-time officers every March in the Bristol SU Elections, and they are paid to work full-time to lead the SU for a year. Each officer represents a different area of the student body and helps to improve your experience as a University of Bristol Student!

Collective Priorities

Officers choose three main objectives to focus on for the year ahead, based on student priorities. Read the priorities for 2024/25 below:

Student Poverty

We’ll be focusing on transport, accommodation and student provisions to reduce costs for students and lobby externally for wider change.

Collective Wellbeing

From harm reduction to community building, we’ll be prioritising your physical and mental wellbeing to improve access to support.

Academic Satisfaction

Working with the University to improve assessment feedback and academic accessibility, bringing more compassion to your academic experience.

At Student Council and our Annual Members Meeting the student body bring forward motions for policy that they'd like us to persue.

Aside from our priorities and campaigns (like Welcome, Mental Health Awareness Week and LGBTQ+ History Month), we work on policy passed by our students at our democratic events, AMM and Student council.

Once a motion is passed by vote at one of the above meetings (and if necessary, ratified at the next student council) they become active policy for three years.

Below you can see our progress on everything we've been asked to work on by students, as well as all previous policy
