LGBTQIA+ History Month

February is LGBTQIA+ History Month – a time to raise awareness, celebrate, and engage in honest reflection on the history of the LGBTQ+ community, LGBTQ+ rights, and related civil rights movements. Over the month, we will be working alongside the LGBTQ+ Network and the Trans Network – to celebrate LGBTQIA+ History Month through a host of different events. It is a great opportunity to demonstrate allyship, celebrate the advancements and actively engage in making our university more inclusive for all.

Whether you’re attending the Crafternoon, warming your heart at our Summerland screening, or taking part in the open discussion happening at the Trans in Medicine Panel, there are multiple opportunities to get involved and reflect on the importance of this movement.

If you don’t take part in February and realise later that you would have liked to, then don’t worry! Throughout the rest of the year, you will be able to get involved with various LGBTQ+ inclusive societies and networks. Just search for the group that interests you, and check their pages for info on how to get involved.

There is something for everyone that wants to take part, check out the events below to find something that suits you.
