Are you looking for a reason to nominate yourself for an SU Award? Perhaps you want to nominate someone but would like more information about the SU Awards and why they’re important. If so, then look no further! Here are six reasons to get nominated – whether that be for your society, or a specific, standout individual.
Both staff and students can nominate individuals and groups for an award, so make sure to take part in this incredible opportunity to spotlight student successes!
-
You're a student society or group that has made a notable, positive impact on student experience throughout the academic year!
We have over 350 wonderful societies here at Bristol SU, but not every single one can say they have won an SU Award. Successful societies or groups at this year's Awards will receive a badge on their web pages – highlighting that their individual achievements stand out from the crowd. What better way to attract membership?
- You're an individual that has used your voice to drive positive change and demonstrate a passion to transform the student experience at Bristol.
Are you or someone that you know a changemaker? If you have taken time outside of your studies to drive beneficial change at the uni, then it deserves to be celebrated! The perfect way to do this is by nominating yourself for a Student Voice Award – which will give your voice an even wider audience, throughout the rest of your degree and into employment.
- You're looking to boost your employability.
Why not celebrate all of your hard work whilst boosting your employability? The Bristol SU Awards are the perfect opportunity to shine a spotlight on your achievements, which will be seen by future employers!
Winning an SU Award is a great way to demonstrate to employers the extracurricular activities you have taken part in alongside your degree. Recruiters want to see evidence of your skills and potential, and an SU Award demonstrates exactly that.
- Whether you win or get shortlisted, there are amazing benefits to being a part of the SU Awards!
Even if you don’t win an Award, being a part of these celebrations has multiple benefits for you or your society/group! All shortlisted nominees will receive assets that can be shared on social media, and being able to speak positively about your achievements and successes with students on social media is a great way to develop your personal brand!
And, of course, attending the Awards themselves is a fun way for you to come together and celebrate one another’s success.
- You’ve raised money, awareness, and/or provided support to a charitable cause through any means.
Whether you're a sports club, society, volunteer, or student leader - raising money and awareness for charity is a fantastic achievement and deserves to be recognised. Your efforts will be highlighted as award-winning - which is the perfect way to celebrate and accredit all of the hard work you have put in over the past year.
If you know an individual or a group that has gone above and beyond this year, nominate them now!
