Winter Events🎇

If you haven’t already, make sure to check out our article on events happening over the Christmas period so you can plan your time here in Bristol!

Volunteering Projects❤

If you’re looking to make a difference over the holidays, there are various volunteering opportunities available in Bristol at this time of the year – when vulnerable members of our community need us most. Regular volunteers may have headed home or travelled elsewhere for the holidays, so if you’re looking to make a positive impact then it’s a great opportunity to do so!

Caring at Christmas is a pop-up day centre based at the Trinity Centre for people experiencing homelessness and in precarious housing situations – for example, people having to sleep rough, people currently living in hostels and temporary accommodation. This centre is currently looking for volunteers.

For more information about our volunteering projects, check out our volunteering page.

Harm Reduction Tips for the Holiday Season 🤗

The holiday season can bring joy, celebration, and connection, but it can also be a time of stress, sadness, and increased drug or alcohol use for some.

To stay safe and make the most of the season, consider these harm reduction tips: Stick with trusted friends, respect each other’s limits, and ensure everyone gets home safely. Plan ahead by charging your phone, arranging transport, and avoiding walking home alone. If using substances, start with low doses, avoid mixing, and test your drugs if possible.

For those choosing sobriety, let loved ones know your intentions so they can offer support. Remember, resources like Wellbeing Services, Samaritans, and local crisis teams are there to help if you need support over the holidays. Stay safe and enjoy responsibly!

Making the Most of Bristol✨

Bristol is a vibrant and exciting city all year round. Take this time to explore places you haven’t been able to yet or get stuck in with any winter activities that are taking place. You can find out what events are happening here.
It’s the perfect time to head for a wintery walk around the Harbourside or cross the Suspension Bridge to Ashton Court 🌿
