We hope you enjoy your winter break and are excited for a new term! Exams and deadlines may be looming, but there's plenty to look forward to on the other side. Check out some of the highlights coming up over the next few months:
Not found your perfect hobby yet? Intended to start something last term but were just a bit too busy? Don't worry - Give it a Go is back and you'll be able to sign up for a variety of different taster sessions held by Bristol SU student groups. Even better, we're hosting a Give it a Go! Takeover Day on Saturday 21 January so you can try out lots of new things without having to leave the building. Booking available soon.
Dominos, local businesses and plenty of freebies! Come along to our Commercial Refreshers Fair on Wednesday 25 January.
Each year the SU runs elections which offer students the chance to represent student voice at Bristol. Whether you want to lead the union as a full-time officer or represent the academic interests of students on your course, there are so many ways to make change to the University experience for the communities you care about. We will be sharing more info in the new year but get in touch with our democracy team at bristolsu-elections@bristol.ac.uk if you know you’re interested now.
Intramural has a new sport - come and get involved in Intramural table tennis! There's social/casual play on 30 January which is suitable for all, or intermediate-advanced players can enjoy a social tournament on 1 February.
Volunteering is a great way to develop skills, meet new people and give back to the local community. If you're not sure where or how to get started, come along to our Volunteering Fair on 8 February where you can meet different student-led projects and organisations from across the city. Student Volunteering Week also takes place in February, so we'll be hosting some one-off volunteering days which you can get involved in without a regular commitment.
LGBT+ History Month is a month of remembrance, celebration, exploration and discussion. There will be a number of events across the university and city throughout February to mark LGBT+ History Month, plus She Can, They Can will be making a comeback.
Everyone's favourite opportunity for democracy, discussion and pizza! Join us on Thursday 9 February for your chance to improve your university experience and vote on Bristol SU policy. All students can submit motions and then vote at this meeting, so make sure yours counts! We're hosting motion writing workshops on 24 and 25 January so you can get started.
From a Salsa ball, to Aashiyana (ASocs flagship event), to RAG Battle of the Bands, there always plenty of student-led events taking place throughout TB2.
