Trans Students’ Guide to Bristol

Monday 02-09-2024 - 09:00

Moving to a new city may seem daunting, but it can be exciting at the same time! Bristol is a vibrant city that celebrates an incredibly diverse population. In our city and among the student body, the trans community flourishes.

Annually, we have Trans Pride South West which takes place in Bristol to celebrate those from the transgender, non-binary, Intersex, & gender non-confirming individuals community. This takes place in addition to the numerous pride events that typically run throughout June and July. Throughout the year, there are also many LGBTQ+ club nights, socials, and other events that take place in the city.

We have been working with the Trans Students’ Network to help make your life easier when you move to Bristol. They have selected some of their favourite hairdressers, local organisations, and groups that you can get involved in within Bristol. Take a look!

✨Hairdressers

Shotgun

Located in both Cotham, and the Bearpit, Shotgun charge by length, not gender. They are a very trans-friendly establishment, for both transfems and transmascs.

Dooo Hub

Dooo Hub is situated in Bedminster and also charges by length. They are run by queer and trans individuals.
