Ever wanted to try a new activity or explore a hidden talent? Our "Give it a Go!" series is your chance to do just that!
We put on our Give it a Go! series at the beginning of each term, offering various taster sessions for our student groups. From sports to arts and everything in between, we have a variety of different sessions planned for you to try something new before committing to a membership. Keep an eye on our Give it a Go webpage to see what student groups and activities you can get involved in.

Dive into the new term with Refreshers, including the Refreshers Fair!
From 20 January until 2 February we’ll be offering you the chance to try something fresh – like a club or society you might have missed during Welcome – and discover somewhere new in the city.
On 24 January we’ll be hosting our annual Refreshers Fair, and you won’t want to miss it. This is an opportunity to discover your new favourite Bristol business and get freebies from big names like Domino's Pizza and Viva!
Refreshers is a great introduction to the city and University life for students who may have missed the festivities during the Welcome period or those who joined in the new year – so get involved!
Your voice matters, and we want to hear it! Join us at the Annual Members Meeting where you can contribute to shaping the future of your Students’ Union, vote on important Bristol SU policy, and improve your university experience.
This is your chance to voice your opinions, ask questions, and engage in discussions that directly impact the student community. If you have ideas to create positive change on campus, submit them as motions – they will then get voted on at the meeting.
Find out all you need to know here and head down to the Annual Members Meeting (AMM) on Thursday 1 February in The Anson Rooms, from 17:00 until 20:00.
Looking to give back to the local community and make a positive difference? Student Volunteering Week could be the perfect opportunity to get a taste of volunteering in Bristol and get stuck into unique projects.
As part of this week, the annual Bristol SU Volunteering Fair is back! If you would like to see what opportunities currently exist in Bristol, then head to the Anson Rooms in the Richmond Building from 16:30 to 18:30 on Wednesday 7 February. You will be able to meet over 40 organisations and learn how you can support important causes across the city.
Get involved, have fun and make a difference!
The time is nearly here for our annual Bristol SU Elections and there are many ways to get involved.
Suppose you have opinions on how the University of Bristol or Bristol Students’ Union could be improved to make sure they are doing everything possible for students. In that case, this is the chance to become a student representative.
Consider running for a full-time position in the elections to represent each student and help steer the direction of your SU – whether you’re passionate about making sustainable choices on campus or lobbying the university to help students with the cost of living.
Your voice is vital and if you have a vision for change, we want to help it happen.
If you know you would like to get involved and want to find out more about the roles, please get in touch with our democracy team at bristolsu-elections@bristol.ac.uk

Alongside all of the exciting projects we’ve mentioned so far in this article, we have an exciting lineup of events planned for the entire term! From quizzes to nature walks and tours, there's something for everyone. Be sure to check our ‘What’s On’ page regularly so you don't miss out.
