North Wales Trip

Come join us in North Wales, the best climbing venue in the UK, if not the world. With lifetimes of high quality climbing of all disciplines, there’s a bit of rock for everyone to fall off of. We are staying in a hut (with actual beds!!) in Ogwen valley, with climbing quite literally on our doorstep.

Tickets go on sale at 6pm on Friday 1st March, drivers tickets cost £47 and non-drivers cost £53.

Ogwen boasts some of the most beautiful mountain climbing in the UK, from the huge rhyolite Idwal slabs to the sprawling boulders of Sheep Pen. Like Ogwen’s older sibling, Llanberis pass sits in the adjacent valley. The Pass is home to many of North Wales’ classic boulders and trad lines, with the likes of Wavelength and Jerry’s Roof being the stomping ground of climbing greats for the last 40 years. Soaring high above the boulders, crags such as Dinas Cromlech and Scimitar Ridge offer up some challenging trad climbing, for those bold enough. That’s not all though, the sprawling slate quarries in Llanberis provide endless technical face climbing and the beautiful limestone beaches of North Wales are home to heaps of climbing that often stays dry when the mountains are wet.

North Wales experiences a lot of not great weather at all times of the year and every trip is a bit of a gamble so start praying for sunshine now. If the rain decides to soak every rock, there’s plenty of beautiful walks in the valleys and Llanberis is a great town to visit when you can’t go climbing.

Here’s some crags to have a nosey at, but this is a very short list. Where there’s rocks, North Wales has an abundance of bouldering, sport and trad at all grades - something for everyone!
