Decolonising the Curriculum involves revising educational materials and practices to challenge colonial biases and include diverse perspectives, particulary those of marginalised communities. It is important because it promotes a more accurate and inclusive understanding of history, society and culture. By incoporating voices that have been historically silenced or marginalised, decolonising the curriculum fosters empathy, critical thinking and respect for cultural diversity among students. Ultimately, it helps to address systemic inequalities in education and create a more equitable learning environment for all.
