Geology Field Trip to Clevedon

Join us for BUGGS first exciting geology field trip to the stunning coastal town of Clevedon, where we’ll explore the rich geological history of the area, examining rock formations, coastal processes, and the area's unique fossil records with Mary Benton
Meeting Point: Bristol to take a Bus to Clevedon and then return afterwards.
Cost: Free for members.

Clevedon, located on the Bristol Channel in Somerset, offers a remarkable opportunity to study a variety of geological features and to have a chill trip where you can socialise and also improve your fieldwork skills and knowledge.

During the trip, we’ll investigate the distinctive cliff faces, coastal erosion, and sedimentary rock layers that tell the story of millions of years of Earth’s history. Mary will help explain the processes at work, including how the coastal features have evolved over time, and how we can interpret the rocks and fossils to understand the region's ancient environments.
