Combat Karate (or ‘Goju Ryu’) is a practical and effective martial art for self-defence. Our system covers the full martial spectrum – sparring, grappling, weapons, fitness and more. Our club has five 4th Dan instructors, each having over twenty years of experience in Goju Ryu. Combat Karate is more than just a club – it’s a community. We regularly socialise after training, and we have a number of social events throughout the year, with this term’s first one coming up on Saturday 25th January.
All of the sessions at Combat Karate between Monday 6th January and Saturday 25th January will be absolutely free. You’re not limited to picking just one session – come to as many as you want! Whether you've been training with us for years, have been along to a session or two, or have never trained with us before, you won't have to pay a penny to attend any of these sessions:
Monday 6th January: 7pm – 9pm; Carpenter Room, Richmond Building
Tuesday 7th January: 7pm – 9pm; Carpenter Room, Richmond Building
Thursday 9th January: 7.30pm – 9.30pm; Jubilee Building, Badock Hall
Saturday 11th January: 10am – 12noon; Carpenter Room, Richmond Building
Tuesday 14th January: 7pm – 9pm; Carpenter Room, Richmond Building

Saturday 25th January: 10am – 12noon; Carpenter Room, Richmond Building
\*\*\* Please note that the session on Tuesday 21st January is taking place outdoors. Find us at what3words location ‘wounds.again.union’ (no, seriously) or give Smiley a call to locate us. When the Richmond Building is unavailable (which really doesn’t happen very often) we don’t let it stop us from training! If you’re coming along to this session, please make sure that you’re dressed for training in the cold. If this doesn’t sound like your idea of fun, then no worries, give this one a miss and come along to any of our other Give It A Go sessions – all of which are indoors! \*\*\*
There’s no need to book a place – just turn up! If you'd like more information, contact Smiley at smiley-from-combat-karate@hotmail.co.uk or on 07443 833229.
