Following exam season on May 23rd-26th, we will be heading to the Isle of Wight: a historically important location for paleontology, as it is here that some of the first dinosaur fossils described by science were discovered. The diverse geology of the Island offers the opportunity to find a broad range of fossils from cretaceous dinosaurs to oligocene mammals. During our residential, we will take you to some of the best localities for finding these fossils, as well as a visit to the Dinosaur Isle museum which hosts almost every British dinosaur discovered & the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, home to rescued big cats & other more fleshy creatures.
Tickets will cover 3 nights of accommodation, transport from Bristol to the Island & back (via car & ferry), evening meal & access to the museum & zoo. All this will cost only £85. We have tried really hard to reduce the cost of this trip, but if this still seems like too much, you can apply to the SU's hardship fund for up to £200 to assist in group participation. The deadline for this is Monday 17th March.
