Description

Welcome to the University of Bristol Women's Football Club!

UBWFC is for all women attending the University of Bristol who have an interest in football. We invite women of all standards and previous experience; all we require in return is commitment, teamwork and a passion for the beautiful game!

This page has lots of information on the club, but if you are interested in joining UBWFC this year and want to stay up to date with all the action, please follow us on Instagram @ubwfc. All social media links can be found at the bottom of the page.

We have five teams catering for a range of abilities and previous football experience:

  • Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th team play British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) football and compete against other universities on Wednesdays.
  • Our 1st team are recently won the Southern Premier League in the 22/23 season and even represented Great Britain at the 2023 EUSA European Universities Football Championships in Tirana. They also won Team of the Year at the 2023 Bristol SU Sports Awards!
  • Our 2nd team compete in the Western 2B, and our 3rd team in the Western 2A.
  • Our 4th team have joined BUCS this year and compete in Western 3.
  • The demand for competitive football has grown massively over the last few years and this year we are introducing a 5th team who will play in social 11 aside friendlies to help bridge the gap between our Development Squad and our BUCS teams!
  • Our Development Squad is for those who are new to the game, and want to use the sport to socialise, or to keep fit. They play 7-a-side football and compete in the Bristol Women's Football Casual League on Saturdays with a fixture roughly every three weeks.

If you are enthusiastic, have an interest in the game and want to meet lots of friendly faces at our regular socials, then please get in touch!
