GeogSoc is a student-run society responsible for the social side of being a Geography student at Bristol University. We hold socials, run sports teams, host careers events and also hold the annual Globe Ball. The social side of Geography is yearned after by many other students around Bristol.
Sticking with the aim to include all students, GeogSoc also offers first-year students support through the parenting scheme - where second-year Geographers are paried to become 'parents' of a group of first-year students. This family network provides first-year students with people to ask questions about studying, reading and university-life in general from students who have been through simliar experiences. Families are encouraged to meet up for food before GeogSoc socials, and really get to know each other in the way that a family should!
Every year the GeogSoc organises a 4 day trip away in Europe, that is conveniently placed in the time table and very affordable! Previous destinations have been Budapest, Prague and Amsterdam, where will this years be?!
Becoming a member is a must for all students studying Geography at Bristol, as it provides access to the fantastic activities organised by GeogSoc and also helps to fund the development of the society to do more to make all things Geographical outside the classroom a right good time!
As a committee we want to make your geographical years at Bristol as amazing as they can be, please contact us with any questions you may have!
