Want to make some movies?
Not sure where to start?
˙✧。🎥˚ InFilm is for you! 🎞️✮⋆˙
InFilm is UoB’s ONLY film-making society. We offer the chance for students to make their own films together for fun!
We’re open to everybody - whether you’ve already got an Oscar or you’ve never picked up a camera...
We operate on a bi-weekly schedule, alternating between production meetings and socials.
Our Short Fiction Film Challenge is our most popular event. You form groups with other students, you are given a prompt, and you have roughly 2 months to make a 5-10 minute short that is then screened at a black tie premiere at a venue including awards and live DJ's! Your Oscar-winning dreams will come true...
You will have full access to the InFilm society's camera equipment, as well as newsletters with production advice in your inbox every week. The committee production reps will supervise the production process from start to finish and are there for you whenever you need help!
Our socials are a lot of fun. We organise film-themed pub quizzes, screenings (that you can vote for), we have themed parties and socials where you can meet fellow filmmaking enthusiasts and start projects on the side.
We also provide access to U-Film - a part of our society where you can get involved with creating films for other societies (societies in the past include sailing soc and fishing soc). You will form film crews, learn how to make films for other people, and make many new friends along the way!
Additionally, as a member, you can submit anything that you’ve made to be uploaded to our YouTube channel!
The world of filmmaking is fabulous, fun, and challenging. No matter how much prior filmmaking experience you have, InFilm provides a great opportunity to make friends and to create!
