Bristol SU recognises that the costs of participating in student groups can be prohibitively expensive for some students. The Activity Hardship Fund was created to support those students who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate in their chosen activity due to the cost.
Kickboxing is a martial art that incorporates both punches and kicks in a stand-up fighting style. It is incredible for overall fitness, self-defense, and confidence. We are a fun and friendly, student-led club open to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced fighters. We offer fitness, technique, and sparring sessions multiple times a week, plus a few sessions a month, led by an experienced coach and kickboxer - Sean Viera - so there is something for everyone. We also partake in gradings once a year and competitions throughout the year. Competitions include university run events, WAKO competitions and intraclub competitions. We also implement a family scheme to ensure everyone feels welcome and included. This scheme allows everyone to have a few familiar faces when attending sessions!
Regular membership - £10 for the year
This membership gives you discount off fitness & technique sessions.
Sparring membership - £25 for the year
This membership covers the cost of the insurance you need to spar and compete with us and gives you a discount on all sessions.
You will only be able to attend sparring sessions when you have this membership. However, rest assured, if you are unsure whether you want a sparring membership, you can purchase a regular membership and upgrade to a sparring membership at a later date with NO EXTRA COST (See below)
Please send your date of birth, male/female, and a headhsot photo of yourself to George the Treasurer (fx22603@bristol.ac.uk) after purchasing a sparring membership. This information is required for the insurance and license profile to be set up.
