Description

Skate Soc aims to unite skateboarders of any level at UoB and create a thriving community to skate and socialise in.

Once you have joined the society, follow us on Instagram for updates about weekly socials, events and skate trips. You can also join our Skate Soc 2024/25 Members WhatsApp Group by DM-ing us on Instagram @uobskatesoc or emailing us at uob.skate@gmail.com.

What do we do?

Weekly Socials

We organise regular Wednesday afternoon skate sessions (weather permitting of course!) at parks like Dean Lane, Victoria Park, M32, Curbside/Daveside, and street spots around the centre such as Lloyds Amphitheatre, Memorial/Plaza and College Green. We usually follow up a skate with a trip to the pub for a social afterwards.

Alongside these we offer beginner sessions at Trenchard Street car park, perfect if you’ve never skated before or want to get to know what we’re about in a no-pressure environment.

Whether you want to find some more skate mates, need some advice or are after some cheap (or free!) second hand equipment, joining us welcomes you to this amazing community.

We also have a map of skate spots in Bristol which you can find here.

Events

For the past two summers, we have spent a week in beautiful sunny Barcelona, one of the best cities for skating in Europe. We hope to have another week abroad in summer 2025.

We offer our members the chance to go on skate trips to some of the great parks outside of Bristol, such as Spit & Sawdust (Cardiff), Nailsea, Victoria Park (Bath) and more.

At the end of each term we run skate jams that have been a huge success, check out our Instagram for some pics!
