About Us:

Squash is the best sport there is!

Yes, of course we'd say that... but it really is perfect, particularly if you're looking for a new (or first) sport and fancy something a bit different!  Squash is fast-paced, a fantastic workout and a great social sport, not to mention being voted the world's healthiest sport by Forbes!

Our club has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with weekly socials, amazing student and professional coaches along with great players that are always keen to get on court and have some fun- not to mention the annual Squash tour to Europe and the three-day 'Squestival' in the summer! We have sessions for everyone from the seasoned Squashie to absolute beginners so there really is a little Squash for everyone!

How to get in Touch?

We're always active on our socials- 'bristolunisquash' on Instagram and 'University of Bristol Squash Club' on Facebook, but an Instagram DM to our page is the best way to reach out! Details for all our socials, matches and other Squash-goodness can be found in our Lounge group, join up to stay in touch with all things Squash! If you'd rather see our beautiful faces, come and say hi at the Fresher's Fair on (--/--/--), we'll be waving Squash Racket's in the air.

Being A Club Member!

Joining the best sports club at Bristol Uni is just about the legendary Squash Fleece... there's even more to it than that! It's about joining a supportive and friendly community who are always game for a spot of Squash. Attend Social Squash each Saturday for a casual hit, run by our very own Performance Members (elite Squashies and the peak of physical performance) and be sure not to miss our famous weekly socials- Wednesday nights in Lizard Lounge are truly the stuff of Myth. If you're really lucky, you might get the chance to play in one of our teams- a close-knit group that trots around the country weekly to batter other teams at Squash! Most importantly of all though, its about having fun and feeling part of an inclusive and uplifting community of Squashies!

Our Teams

We have (-) women's teams (our womens numbers are one of the biggest in the country) who all compete in the BUCS leagues and (-) men's teams. (-) of our teams also compete in the prestigious Bristol and Avon District Squash Leagues. We experience success throughout our teams but the emphasis is on your wellbeing, enjoyment and making sure that you are supported and have a group of friends to train and play alongside in a safe and fun environment.

Coaching is provided on a weekly basis by Head Coach (and Squash Coordinator), James Peach (Level 3 PT and professional Squash player). James provides all our team members with elite, personalised coaching with a focus on long term development so whether you're new to the sport, or a seasoned squasher, James will help you raise the level of your game and compete at a high level.

If you are lucky enough to be highly skilled and play for our top teams then you will be asked to join our Performance Squad, where you will receive extra weekly training focusing on mentality, tactics and technique.

Membership Explanations

We offer a range of membership types for social, team and performance squashies (and, if you're reading this during the freshers fair, a special discount). For more details about what each membership costs and all the bang you get for your buck,  Click Here.

Socials

The Squash Socials are legendary, revered amongst UoB societies as the best social events around! Each week our members get together to have some (non-Squash) related fun, themes, parties, sober socials, house crawls, quizzes, scavenger hunts and more are just some of the shenanigans that we get up to each Wednesday. Of course, we wouldn't be a Sports Club if we didn't end each Sports Night with a pilgrimage to one of Bristol's finest clubs to cut some Squash specific movements on the dance floor (lunges recommended) joined by 50 other sports clubs, not one to miss!

We also hold a Christmas and Summer formals, along with Squestival during the summer break where we swap our usual kit for black tie and your favourite dinner dress, heads will turn as we strut our stuff in one of Bristol's finest culinary establishments. A chance to enjoy some amazing food and drink with all your Squash friends. We encourage all our members to attend as it really is a highlight of the year!

Tour

On top of everything you've just read we also run an annual Squash Tour. We have been to places like Ayia Napa, Barcelona, Croatia and Athens for some loosely squash-related tourism, this is an incredible experience- a chance to travel somewhere new with your friends, experience some new culture and for many people, acts as the perfect end to an incredible year with the Squash Club- truly once in a lifetime lore-building stuff!

We hope that what you have read is enough to convince you that Squash is the club for you! If you're ready to join the fun, click "Join this Group" below, if for some reason you need more convincing or have questions about anything then please get in touch via our social media and join our Lounge group! All that goodness can be found in the Linktree below:
