Hi all,

You might have already heard that we at the SU have been working on setting up a regular societies’ club night on Tuesdays at Pryzm, in the same way as sports clubs have Compete at Bunker every Wednesday.

We’re going to pilot the night this year and basically just see how it goes! For now I wanted to update you on exactly what’s happening, and how you can use the night to make some money for your group.

Tickets will be £5, and 20% per ticket pre-sold (after VAT) will go to whichever society the buyer is affiliated with - so you could stand to generate quite a lot of income for your group across the year.

The event is a 90s and pop night called Fresh Tuesdays, playing classics like TLC, R. Kelly, Ace of Base and the rest. It should be quite cheesy, but really fun! You can see the attached artwork for more of an idea of the night.

We’re launching on the Tuesday of Welcome Week (20 September) and then we’ll be running the night every Tuesday.

How do you claim the money for your group?

  1. Get your code. Your group has a unique 3-digit code in our finance system.

>> Find your code here <<

  1. Share that code with your members, and when they buy a ticket, we’ll ask them to input the code of whichever society they choose - like a discount code.

  2. Every time anyone uses your code when buying a ticket, and then turns up at Pryzm, your group will be credited 80p. Obviously, the bigger group of people you get together, and the more you promote your code, the more money you make!

This is the first time we’ve done anything like this, so we hope that you’ll find it both fun and useful!

Happy to answer any questions you have, and would really love to hear your feedback.

Thanks,

Jamie Cross - Union Affairs Officer
