Welcome
Hello! Welcome to the University of Bristol Gymnastics Club! Gymnastics is an amazing sport where you can test yourself in a range of different activities. The sport is great for building strength, flexibility and core control. We are a very welcoming and inclusive club, open to people of all abilities from complete beginners to competitive gymnasts or those looking to get back into the sport.
We train at the Bristol Hawks Gymnastics Club and Fromeside Gymnastics Club which both have amazing facilities for both Men's and Women's Artistic, tumbling and other disciplines. Training takes place on Wednesday 1-2:30pm at Bristol Hawks Gymnastics Club and Sunday 7-9pm at Fromeside Gymnastics Club. We have access to qualified coaches (up to high performance) at each training session, so no skill is out of reach! We also offer a coach-led skills and conditioning session at the SU Richmond Building on a Monday evening 9-10.30pm. There is no maximum or minimum you must attend.
We meet socially at least once a week and also arrange regular trips and bi-annual holidays. Some of our socials include themed nights, scavenger hunts, pub trips, cocktail/mocktail nights and coffee mornings. Organised trips have included Ninja Warriror Bristol and Air Hop and previous holiday destinations have been Portugal, Tenerife, Turkey all organised by our lovely social secs. Our socials carry a great sense of community, friendship and fun which you won’t want to miss!
Every member is given opportunities to compete in local, regional and national competitions regardless of whether or not you've competed before. We are affiliated with UGC (University Gymanstics Cup) and aim to build on our competitive success, along with entering a national university competition BUCS with a team. We also host our own gymnastics competition which is a great chance for members to test themselves and get involved in a friendly competitive environment.
