As the name suggests, we are a group dedicated to playing Handball in a fun, social environment with the option for competative play. Handball is a game similar to football but using throwing rather than kicking, features some rules of basketball and is hugely popular in Europe, featuring 60 minute games with teams of seven. Similar forms of the game even date back to civilisations like Ancient Greece and Rome.
EVERY SUNDAY 10:30 - 11:30 IN THE SEH BUILDING NEXT TO SENATE HOUSE
We conduct mixed-gender training - which is open to all abilities of players. This year we successfully put our men's team forward for the British University Championships (BUCS) and have high hopes to enter the women's team next year. Most of all though, we want people to engage in the sport we love and to have fun, simply through attending training and the socials we hold throughout the year.
Follow us on Instagram (@bristolhandball) for regular updates and information.
We are all constantly learning, both as a team and as a society, so whether you're a handball veteran or a brand new player, why not give it a shot?
EVERY WEDNESDAY - UPDATES ON THE INSTAGRAM PAGE
We put on a wide variety of socials weekly ranging from pub quizzes to curry socials. We're fully open to any suggestions you may have for future socials! Alongside these, we also have biannual formals open to all members.
Our membership is £35, available on this page to purchase.
Alongside the memberships, members will also have to purchase a Sport, Exercise and Health (SEH) Access Pass from the SU website. This is to allow members to access training and the relevant facilities.
If you are ever in need of aid when paying these fees, be sure to make use of the SU Hardship Fund.
