Sustainability in Islam - IAM X Sustainability Month

This is an IAM x Sustainability Month event. Islamophobia Awareness Month centers around the experiences of Muslim students in the UK, particularly Bristol; and the challenges they face as Muslims in the university.

This year, we're looking at "Islam in the West", focusing on the alignment and conflict in values that Muslims may/may not have with society in the UK; addressing both concepts and misconceptions that form the root of Islamophobia. The aim of this is to reconcile differences and get an understanding of where "tolerances" and "live and let live" lie in the face of two seemingly polar opposite values: Islam and the West.

Ask a Muslim (a Bristol SU Instagram takeover on 16 Nov) & the Public Forum will be two spaces where this conversation takes place openly, while this Sustainability Month collaboration event is an event that talks about a tenet of Islam that is held highly by the West (unbeknownst to the West): sustainability & environmentalism.
