Your travel time to the UK depends on your accommodation.
If you are going to live in University Accommodation, you will receive an email about the opening dates and times of your accommodation for you to plan your travel accordingly. If you are living in private accommodation, you will have to check your arrival dates with your landlord and get written confirmation when the accommodation will be ready from.
Check Luggage weight instructions on the airline you are using, check what items you can and cannot carry. Also check what you can and cannot bring to the UK.
Heathrow airport is particularly well sign posted so do not be worried if it’s your first time travelling to the UK. The first thing to expect is Border Control – they are responsible for checking passports and monitoring goods and people coming through UK borders. This is where your visa will be checked, and you may be asked a few questions about your visit/study.
If you arrive in either London Heathrow Airport or Bristol Bus Station between Friday 6 September to Sunday 8 September then Global Lounge Ambassadors will be there to support you and help with onwards travel. You will be emailed more information once you let the University know your details.

UK weather in September is very unpredictable! It can be sunny and warm one day, and cool, rainy, or windy the next. You should be prepared for all types of weather. Bring light clothes for warm days, but also pack sweaters, a waterproof jacket, and an umbrella for cooler, wetter days. Layers are key so you can adjust to changing conditions. Having a mix of clothes will ensure you're comfortable no matter the weather.
