Wellbeing

At Bristol SU we understand the challenges that university life can present, and we're committed to fostering a supportive community that prioritises your mental health. You can access support through the wellbeing services below. For more tailored or external support options, please view our resources section.

There are three ways you can make an appointment:

Emergency Help

In an emergency, call 999 or contact an NHS urgent mental health helpline in your area. Helplines are open 24 hours a day and you can speak to a mental health professional who can help decide the best course of care.

If you are on campus, you can call University Security Services on 0117 331 1223.

Hub of Hope

The Hub of Hope is the UK’s leading mental health support database. It is provided by national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, and brings local, national, peer, community, charity, private and NHS mental health support and services together in one place for the first time.

Bristol SU Wellbeing Network

The Wellbeing Network was created to ensure that our wellbeing needs, as students, are being met by the policies, services and culture at university. We bring together students, societies, university staff and external partners to:

  • Raise awareness of different aspects of student life that affect mental health and wellbeing.
  • Organise events that are beneficial to wellbeing.
  • Give voice to students with lived experience of the policies, services and culture at university.
  • Campaign for better support for all students with differing needs.

LGBTQIA+ Wellbeing

Bristol Mind offer a variety of support for LGBTQIA+ people in Bristol including MindLine and MindLine Trans+.

The trans+ and non-binary helpline; 'MindLine Trans+' is running 8 pm to Midnight - Mondays and Fridays on 0300 330 5468.

Mind Student Health Hub

The Mind student mental health hub is a resource to inform and support all students at all places of study.

With their mental health information hub for students, you can:

  • read detailed information about how to cope with the challenges of student life and mental health
  • learn ways to better manage your mental health with our tools, tips, videos and blogs
  • get support information on mental health for specific student communities.
